Complete a Flying 20 Club Membership Application and
submit it to the Membership Chair along with a
non-refundable application fee of $100. The
Membership Chair's contact information is
listed on the Club
Officers page of this website.
Copies of the following documents must accompany your application:
The front and back sides of a valid United States pilot certificate.
The front and back sides of a valid driver's license.
FAA medical certificate, if current.
Your most recent BFR or equivalent log book endorsement.
NOTE:
For times when there are no immediate openings
for membership, upon receipt of your application
and fee, the Membership Chair will assign you
the next open position on the waiting list.
When your position on the waiting list is called
you will be contacted by the Membership Chair at
which time you will have the opportunity to update
your application as necessary.
Your completed application will be reviewed by the Membership
Chair and an informal interview will be scheduled. Your
application will then be presented to the Executive Board
for its consideration and vote.
If the Board approves your application for membership,
your payment of a non-refundable $2,000 initiation fee and
$200 background check fee should be provided to the Treasurer.
If desired, the initiation fee can be made in two $1000
installments. The first installment is due prior to commencing
any club checkouts, and the second installment (if applicable)
will be billed in the invoice for your second month of membership.
After the Club's receipt of the initiation fee as outlined in
paragraph 3 above, you may schedule a club checkout with one
of the approved CFI's. A checkout must
be completed in each club aircraft that you wish to fly, but
at the discretion of the CFI, a ground-based differences review
may be completed in lieu of an additional checkout flight.
NOTE: The Dakota requires a high-performance endorsement,
which can be completed as part of the checkout.
All expenses associated with the checkout are your sole responsibility,
including CFI fees and the cost of the airplane at the club's current hourly rate.
The content of the airplane checkout is the responsibility of
the individual CFI. Generally, the standards required
will exceed those for Private Pilot certification with
an emphasis on safety and landing proficiency. If your
biennial flight review is not current, a BFR may be
completed with a club-approved flight instructor as
part of the club checkout.
After each club checkout is completed, provide a copy of
the log book endorsement to the Membership Chair. For each
aircraft in which you have been checked out, you will be granted
scheduling privileges in the club's online scheduling system,
subject to the scheduling rules as described in the
Bylaws.
Finally, upon completing at least one aircraft checkout,
you will be given keys to all of the club's aircraft. Note
that although you will receive keys to all of the club's aircraft,
you can only schedule or fly those aircraft for which you have
been checked out by a club-approved CFI.
